This online session looks at best practice and the realities of arts charity governance. It will also discuss organisational performance, business models, income streams and what makes a Board and its members effective.
This will be a webinar format, with cameras off and comfort breaks during. At the end of the webinar, we will be able to take the time to answer any questions you may have via the Q&A chatbox function.
The taking this session is Brona Whittaker, Head of Arts at Arts & Business NI.
Brona has been working in the cultural sector in Northern Ireland for almost twenty years and during that time has worked with cultural organisations across Belfast including the Lyric Theatre and Replay Theatre Company. Brona leads on the design and delivery of A&B NI’s programme of fundraising and governance support services for the cultural sector.
Attendees will –
1) Learn more about the realities of arts charity governance and the experience of being a trustee of a cultural organisation
2) Gain knowledge on the compliance requirements of being on a Board, covering roles and responsibilities plus managerial, legal and financial duties
3) Be able to gain ask questions and engage through this webinar and upskill on board membership
4) Upskill on resources after attending to help with their board member journey or refresh on the roles and responsibilities of being a board member.
This online webinar is perfect for new trustees and Board members seeking an introduction to their roles and responsibilities. The webinar will be live with a slide presentation to help demonstrate points and attendees will have the opportunity to engage and ask question on any points covered at the end of the session.
