The Second Big Gathering: The Findings

The summary of discussions from the second Big Gathering which took place on January 21st, 2021 have been published by the Arts Collaboration Network*.

The purpose of the second Big Gathering is to bring people from across the arts and creative sector together to reconnect as a sector on shared challenges and needs to inform conversations and advocacy key sector asks. To seek feedback on Arts Collaboration Network’s 5 asks. To strengthen our sector’s voice in the recovery and its influence of what’s possible and to demonstrate the importance of collaboration and that it is a vital ingredient in helping us all to get through this.

*The Arts Collaboration Network is an informal network of the main sector support organisations and a number of creative hubs across Northern Ireland. The people involved are Margaret Henry, Thrive Audience Development, Niamh Flanagan, Theatre and Dance NI, Mary Nagele, Arts & Business NI, Rob Hilken & Noel Kelly, Visual Artists Ireland, Kevin Murphy, Voluntary Arts Ireland, Katherine McDonald, Craft NI, Charlotte Dryden, Oh Yeah, Sarah Jones, Creative & Cultural Skills, Peter Richards, Golden Thread Gallery/Chair Belfast Visual Arts Forum, Sophie Hayles, Crescent Arts Centre, Cath McBride In Your Space Circus / Chair: DCSDC Arts & Cultural Strategy, Co-Delivery Group, Anne McReynolds and Maeve Hawkins, The MAC, Damien Coyle, University of Atypical and Jenna Hall, Belfast Community Circus School/Co-Chair Belfast Festivals Forum.

Hosted via Zoom on Thursday 21 January 2021, 2pm-3.30pm, the second Big Gathering had 137 attendees from across the sector representing artists, venues, freelance practitioners, arts organisations, festivals, academic and resource organisations.
